After trying for years, we’ve finally gotten this producer on board for the Black Market. They are considered a Hawke’s Bay institution and a benchmark for the Kiwi wine industry. They’ve opened their cellar to us and we’ve grabbed ome museum syrah. After nine years of ageing in ideal conditions, this wine is really hitting its stride with aromas of black currants, baking spices and cocoa. There’s a fruit sweetness on the palate showing blackberries and plums, and the finish is driven by fine-grained tannins. Our love is unrecoited no longer.
