Mornington Peninsula is such a great region for pinot noir, but due to the high demand for the wine, it’s often quite difficult to find a good deal. From time to time, one does come through though. This pinot, made by aboutique producer with a long history in the Aussie wine scene, comes from the strong 2016 vintage. It’s quite elegant and silky, but there is a bit of oomph to it in the form of hints of cola, tar and dark fruits. There’s black cherry, rhubarb and sassafras on the palate, and the finish is long and just a touch spicy. We don’t expect to find a lot of deals this attractive for Mornington pinot, so get in while you still can.
