Aromatically it shows its terroir in the ripe stone fruit we have come to expect as well as some warming baking spice notes Barrel fermentation gives a subtle hazelnut character as well as some lovely ldquo struck match rdquo lees-derived complexity In the mouth the wine is full bodied amp drywith the mid palate dominated by white nectarine characters a whiff of flint and keeps its line with firm but not hard acidity At bottling the wine is typically restrained but as our experience tells us this wine will soften and broaden as time progresses Our better and longer lived wines have generally been from the cooler years so one would expect this wine to develop over the next 5-8 years
