WINERY INFORMATION After finishing his degree in viticulture and winemaking from California third-generation farmer David Hohnen established his first vineyard in 1970 on the outskirts of Margaret River in WA This small vineyard later became Cape Mentelle Vineyards In 1985 he founded Cloudy BayVineyards in Marlborough NZ He worked as Chief Executive for both the vineyards till 2003 One year later David teamed up with his brother-in-law Murray McHenry to create McHenry Hohnen Wines nbsp TASTING NOTES McHenry Hohnen Rocky Road Shiraz flaunts a dark purple colour with a crimson rim The bright bouquet gives off gorgeous perfumes of ripe red fruits Satsuma plums and raspberry confection with underlying hints of black cherries cola nut and dusty cacao following close behind This stunning Shiraz is soft on the palate brimming with juicy flavours of Cherry Ripe red strap liquorice and sweet spice notes Silky tannins integrate with the fruit forward palate to offer a velvety structure ending with a dry finish It goes well with roasted and grilled meat and game dishes nbsp
