WINERY INFORMATION Vineyard Single vineyard near Redesdale the most southerly part of the Heathcote GI The 2013 vintage came on fast harvested on 2nd nbsp March two weeks early A challenge in the winery due to the high ambient temperatures the open vat fermenters required hand plunging everytwo hours to prevent the ldquo cap rdquo from overheating This frequent hand plunging has resulted in a wine with deep crimson hues and classic Heathcote shiraz aromas and a dense fruit palate and long varietal finish This wine was matured in new American oak puncheons and one year old French hogsheads for 12 months nbsp Hand pruned and picked no pesticides a traditional handmade wine that is vegan compliant no animal derived products used in the winemaking TASTING NOTES nbsp Shiraz in the true Heathcote style made with fruit from a single vineyard - robust varietal characters on the nose and palate with great balance between fruit and oak - a great cellaring wine
