From a cracking vintage in NZ comes this striking Syrah. The nose is so fragrant it could be turned into a perfume - maybe it could be called 'Eau de Craggy Range'. Bucket loads of florals, cherries and spicy aromas rise from the glass, together with a touch of cedar from the oak. The palate is dry, poised and silky-textured with black cherries at the centre, and spice on the finish. It's a lovely wine with a few years ahead of it, so stick some in the cellar and watch it evolve. If not, crack it open now and serve with some nice medium-rare game meat. Red - Shiraz and Blends - Syrah
